THE GUIDE · SAN VITO LO CAPO SICILIA

Day trips, trails and open horizons

Day trips, trails and open horizons

Spend one day seeing the coast from a boat, another walking and another exploring inland towns. Choose the experience first, then one area: the region is more rewarding without constant transfers.

By boat: Zingaro coast and Scopello

Trips along the eastern coast show Zingaro from the sea and may continue towards Scopello. Ask about the harbour, precise boarding point, duration, passenger numbers and stops. A swimming stop does not necessarily include landing on a beach.

On foot: Monte Monaco, Zingaro and Cofano

Choose Monte Monaco for village views, Zingaro for walking and coves, and Monte Cofano for a headland and towers. Compare routes in the walking guide. Decide whether walking or swimming is the priority: equipment, timing and water needs differ.

Erice and Custonaci: a day inland

Erice offers village walks and a different view of the Trapani area. Custonaci and Scurati combine scenery with local history. Choose an area and check the specific sites you want to visit rather than automatically fitting several visits into one afternoon.

Egadi Islands: plan a dedicated outing

Favignana and Levanzo involve different logistics from San Vito’s coast. Clarify whether transport to Trapani is included, where the boat leaves and how you return to San Vito. A scheduled ferry ticket is different from an organised excursion with stops and assistance.

What to ask before confirming

For any activity, confirm inclusions, lunch, equipment, supplements and bad-weather arrangements. Mention children’s needs or mobility difficulties. Contact Sale e Mulini through its website for information on excursions, rentals and transfers.
